Let’s face it this is probably going to offend someone. It is not my intention to offend but it is a somewhat touchy-PC subject so it is bound to happen. So for that I apologise now.
However I am writing this because someone revealed the gender of their unborn child on their YouTube channel.
Yeah I know if you’re like me you are probably sat there going ‘Well what is wrong with that?!’
Well apparently the use of the word Gender is what is wrong with it.
So while this woman is trying to share her joy there are people out there telling her she is doing it wrong by using the word Gender instead of Sex.
Okay I know nowadays people are more so than ever trying to be PC about everything, but what kind of world do we live in that when someone tries to share their joy and reveal the gender of their unborn child that they get hate for it?!
She meant no offence to anyone. Let’s face it, it would be more odd to say Sex Reveal surely?!?! And it would also feel a little more of an inappropriate choice of word considering it is in regards to an innocent little baby. Well that’s how I feel anyway.
She is expecting a little girl. She is excited about expecting another little girl. And so she should be! The idea of cute little dresses and pink EVERYTHING! Man I would be out getting pink everything if I were her! When we found out our little one was a boy we were planning all kind of boyish things. You know what? That is okay! It doesn’t mean her little girl won’t be able to dress up in more boyish dress up clothes or that she won’t be able to play with cars or Lego or footballs. It doesn’t mean that in the future if she decides she is a he that he would be any less loved.
So instead of getting offended by her choice of words and excitement and then bashing her for it, hows about you be a decent human being and congratulate her on her pregnancy and the little human she is making. Sure it may not be the PC thing to say but it wasn’t a problem until recently anyway. If we could deal with the word Gender before hand then we can deal with it now.
Anyway, Congratulations to the mama-to-be!
