So we don’t have an actual bedtime routine as of yet, however, with our little one turning three months on this Monday coming I thought it would be a good time to try and establish one.
At the moment He has his last bottle anytime between 9pm and 11pm then he will be awake for a little while then go to sleep.
He used to wake between 4:30am and 5:30am for a feed then go back to sleep for four more hours. This week we have been lucky and he has slept until 6:30am or 7:30am.
Last night he started moaning twice but settled after being given his dummy (yes we are using one, maybe I’ll explain why we chose to one day).
But so far so good. I’m expecting trouble around the four month mark as I hear they regress a little as well as during teething, but hey a win is a win no matter how long it lasts eh?
My plan is to nurse him in the evening, give him a bath (don’t worry we won’t use baby bath products everynight), read him a story and then try to settle him. We found an app called Baby Sleeps works well to settle him, as well as the programme In The Night Garden, so we will have either os these playing until he starts to drift off.
He will no doubt wake for a feed around the same time he does now but hopefully that’ll do the trick and he will still sleep through after that.
Now we just have to make sure the dog doesn’t wake him… I think it’s time the dog got a night routine as well!
Wish me luck, I’ll let you know how it goes in a few weeks!
